Please use this thread to discuss other games with playoff implications:

Chicago @ Arizona 8:40PM

Colorado @ Los Angeles 9:10PM

St Louis @ Atlanta (oops, day game. Cards already lost so discuss their failure.)

- Nice of the Braves to at least salvage one from the Cardinals. I was hoping the Braves would do better, but a game is better than nothing. Gonna be pulling hard for the Giants this weekend. They have actually been ok lately.

- Gonna be pulling for the DBacks tonight as well, but it appears that they have pretty much checked out for the season. Totally uninspired performance from a team that had long odds, but was still technically alive heading into Monday. Cubs still have the White Sox this weekend, four against the Pirates, and three with the Cards to end the year, so if they manage to clinch the division before that Card series, they earned it.

- At this point, we probably want the Rockies to lose as much as possible, simply as a stress relief. Dodgers end the year with the Padres, DBacks and Giants, so on paper that is pretty easy. Rockies end with the DBacks, four against the Phillies, who are playing pretty well, and three against the Nationals.

I agree the most with this part. At this point, I just wouldn't mind the Dodgers beating up the Rockies and knocking them out of the race for the NL West. We wouldn't face the Dodgers until the NLCS, and I personally will just be happy if we get there.

Dbacks, Pirates, Nationals, Phillies...at this point I don't think any will make the playoffs even if they win out. It's a 6 team race. The Cubs and Braves are basically locked in. The Brewers probably have the highest odds of the other 4 teams but it's super close. Will be an interesting week and a half.

McCalvy just posted the Dbacks' lineup....it is very ugly.

So we can count on hanging the L because baseball, right?

There should be a fine for putting that lineup out there. Then again they just hung three on Hamels in the first and the "A" lineup did next to nothing in the other games.

The first thing I want (assuming the division is not an option) is home field for the WC play in game, but I want the Cards and Rox fighting for that spot to the last day of the season. I don't want either to have the luxury of resting players and lining up pitching. I have no issue playing the Cubs in round two. On paper they are the better team but I think they are more vulnerable than people think this year.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

I might need medical staff on hand, but it’d be a heck of a series.

At this point I feel like the Brewers can beat anyone or be beaten by anyone. Let's just get into the playoffs and see what happens. I guess I'd love the Cards to miss the playoffs and the Brewers play the Cubs in round 2 simply because it would be a great series
