Kratz is in the lineup again. This is unbelievable. There has to be more to the story. I am sure the crack Brewers press core will get to the bottom of this.

I would think we'd be getting Pina at least half of the at bats to keep him game ready for the playoffs. This makes zero sense unless there is a nagging injury that no one knows about.

If you check back through the recent lineups it looks like Kratz is catching Jhoulys, Miley & Davies with Piña getting Gio & Chase.

 

For whatever it is or isn't worth Chacin has a 3.24 ERA in 17 starts with Kratz behind the dish compared to a 4.39 ERA in 12 starts with Piña back there.

I think Counsell needs to just set a lineup of

Cain, Yelich, Aguliar, Shaw, Braun, Moose, Schoop, Pina

 

Then switch out Pina and Kratz every 3 games or so. Arcia comes in 7th or later for defense. Go offense at first because Schoop and Shaw havent been a disaster up the middle..

 

Against lefties I can see swapping out Shaw for Perez or Schoop . But no more screwing around against righties.

Disappointing end to the inning, but the silver lining may be that they have Williams pitch count up to 55 after 3 innings. They don’t seem to be able to make solid contact against this guy.

Kratz put himself in a terrible position to have a chance at an out. I know you can’t technically block the plate, but you have to bet on the throw beating the runner there.
