Seems with two guys on they stay back to prevent the blooper than can score two. with one they try to cut it off at home. Playing back with 2 you'd still keep the guy on 2nd from scoring. Playing back with only on 3rd you're just giving up that run for an out. If you give up the blooper you give up the same 1 run anyway
