What happened to Brewers super fan?

TexasCheesehead
Haha I didn’t mind Front Row Amy (cause she actually likes baseball so whatever) until she posted a bunch of swimsuit pictures and one in her underwear. Her husband took the pictures and let her post them so he could get off on a bunch of 50+ year old creeps drool over his plastic wife. It’s weird...

Hey!!!! I'm not a creep.

Anyhow, I think her 15 minutes were up a long time ago, I never hear her name come up anymore.

Freeway is still around doing freeway stuff. I never knew he was known to Brewer fans. I thought he was a downtown legend of sorts.

Does anyone know his story?

He’s a nice, extremely well intentioned, yet very reserved guy.

He moved to Arizona. Thank God.

Guy bugged me.

Why did he bug you? From all I have ever heard about the guy, he was a super nice dude...

Haha...........this is a long story.......but I didn't write that. My brother-in-law is a funny guy.

No problems with him at all.

Freeway is still seen frequently out and about wherever the MCTS takes him. He works at a place called Curative Care Network. He posts prolifically on Facebook and has around 5,000 friends. He won't be happy until the Brewers, Bucks, Packers, and Golden Eagles all win multiple championships with the fans rioting in the streets. He seems to be a little more into live music than sports lately. He regularly attends fairs, festivals and goes to bars to see bands and sometimes sings backup vocals. I believe Bella Cain is his favorite local band. His life's dream is take first place in the "Local Character" category of the Shepherd Express's "Best of Milwaukee" poll. He was third runner up behind John McGivern, Art Kumbalek and Milverine in the 2017 edition. And he already has his own bobblehead- http://www.bobbleheadhall.com/freeway/

I met Freeway back in like 1990. He used to hang around Hart Park in Wauwatosa and watch Tony Smith and some of the other MU guys play summer league (Mark Anglavar was a regular as was Mike Flory). Really nice guy and was kind of over the top with his cheering but the MU guys knew him and would make sure he didn't make a huge scene when they won...which was pretty much every game that Tony Smith played. He is autistic. I guess his sister was going to make a movie about him at one point. Not sure if it ever got off the ground.

What bugged me more wasn't her specifically, but the huge attention people suddenly gave her. It's like some people haven't seen a pretty girl that thinks she's pretty before.

I'm friends with him on Facebook. He's an interesting cat.

I sat next to him at a Brewer game in the bleachers in the early 90s. Cone on the mound for the Jays. It didn't go well, and he was quite distraught. I didn't realize at the time that he was autistic, (I think I was 16 or 17, I may not have even known what autism was back then) and I actually moved away from him because all he would ever say to me was "what are we going to do about this 3 run deficit?".

I've gotten to know him now to the point where he knows who I am when I see him. He's such an unbelievably nice guy that I feel pretty bad about our first interaction.

Edit: It was actually 1995, so I definitely should've known better.

When I was a kid I remember being told that Freeway got his nickname because he was hit by a bus at one point & settled with the city for free entry to all Milwaukee sporting events & festivals, thus getting a "free way" in for life.

Pretty sure that is an Urbn Lgnd though.

because all he would ever say to me was "what are we going to do about this 3 run deficit?"

That's similar to one of my early interacations with him. I was sitting next to him in the left field bleachers and he said "what are some of the series that the Brewers lost that they should have won?" about 100 times.
