Helena lost to Missoula on Wednesday, 7-2.

 

Michele Vassalotti was roughed up by the Osprey, giving up 11 hits and five runs in 5.1 innings of work.

 

Jesus Lujano and Leugim Castillo lead the Helena bats with three hits each. Luis Avila had two hits.

 

Unfortuantely, Helena went 2-13 with runners in scoring position and stranded 11 men on base.

 

Helena wraps up the season tomorrow evening at Missoula.

Max McDowell, the last man on the bench, delivered a ground-rule double to win Game One for the Shuckers in the 12th

Biloxi got a bases-loaded double from Max McDowell in the 12th inning to secure a 5-3 victory over Pensacola in the first game of their playoff series.

 

The Shuckers racked up 14 hits and four walks on the day, but went 2-14 with runners in scoring position, and could only manage three runs through the first nine innings. Still, they came back from a 3-1 deficit, scoring a run in the 7th and 8th innings to tie the game at three.

 

On the mound, Biloxi pitchers were very good - the main blemishes being home runs surrendered by Zack Brown and Jeff Ames. Biloxi pitchers (Brown, Ames, Olczak, Griep, Ponce) gave up only eight hits and two walks in 12 innings.

 

At the plate, Trent Grisham, Tyler Heineman, Weston Wilson and Blake Allemand each had a pair of hits. Lucas Erceg had the team's only home run.

 

The Shuckers now lead the series 1-0.
