It hit the ground first though. That’s still a HBP?

Yes, HBP is HBP regardless of whether it hits the ground first.

Kratz did that in one of the last two games too (Or I think it was him). It was one where he basically stuck his leg out for it too, whereas this one came pretty quickly. too bad he couldn't dodge this one

Arcia obviously didn't get it done but it was Moose's AB that really hurt. Pet peeve of mine is guys, especially our big bats, going down looking in situations where they had multiple runs in scoring position and 1 or 2 out.

It boggles the mind to me not to protect there and seems to be a recurring theme with us.

I swear, every time Rock opens his yapper about how great our pitching is doing, crap like this happens.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I'm a bit surprised they pulled Chacin. We have plenty of arms so I don't mind it, just surprised. And I couldn't disagree more with the idea of PH Yelich for Arcia. They said he needed a day, and the fact that Perez is starting says a lot about our PH options against LH pitching. Maybe you go Saladino there, but I can understand leaving Arcia for now. Too early to get carried away.

Oh man, the overreacting is reaching an all time high here, lol. We may still make the playoffs even if we lose some games before the season's done.

Yeah, pretty much.

Today is kind of unique in that the result essentially doubles the division lead for the Cubs. (2 or 4) . It was/is crucial if you're still all in on winning the division, to take this one. 2 games out with about 20 left hardly feels like anything. 4 is going to be very tough to overcome.

So I get it. It's a big loss in that aspect if they can't come back.

But yeah, playoffs are definitely still there for the taking either way.

I'm not a big nitpick every move like many do here. But PH for Arcia there I think was a mistake. Whole different game if you get a hit there and putting in someone like Santana with HR power is a huge plus. The expanded rosters right now allow for a move like that and an ultra versatile guy like Perez allows for it. Think it was missed opportunity. Still 65% chance of the same result but I think worth the gamble for the extra offensive chance there.

Man, what another weird hit. Lots off odd stuff in this series
