I don't have a problem with the move, not complaining about it, but at the same time I don't really get this one. Rosters are expanding and Keon I'm sure will be up so it's not like we need Granderson for defense. If we just wanted a lefty bench bat, just don't see much difference between this and seeing what Brad Miller is up to.

Granderson has put up a solid line...can’t say Broxton can do the same. I’m not really thrilled giving up Demi (a decent prospect) for a one month rental. I appreciate Stearns continuing to give this team a shot. Hope it turns into excitement in the postseason.

We're not giving up great prospects or anything but we're giving up way too much for players that aren't particularly good and we'll only have for a month.

I thought the package the Yankees gave up for McCutcheon was a ton better than anything the Brewers gave up today. He's not good either.

I was hoping the return would equal the kind of nothing prospect they gave up for Neil Walker last year, but really, what they gave wasn't a whole lot more than that. And the guys they got fill specific holes. They just need to hope that Gio and Granderson get hot in a pennant race, and Cedeno's numbers aren't smoke and mirrors.

Brewers are sending OF prospect Demi Orimoloye to the Blue Jays for Curtis Granderson.

Nooooooo.... I was so looking forward to hearing Uecker trying to pronounce that name...

"Don't force him to choose between Chris Smalling and Phil Jones. It's like asking someone to choose between which STD to contract!"

What's not to like about .788 vs RHP and good defense? Hes not Trout, but solid player that gives you more than Thames, easily. Thames very likely won't be on the post season roster.

I would rather have Thames on the post season roster than Braun.

He's already commented on coming to the Brewers, via Adam McCalvy:

Curtis Granderson says he isn't worried about where he'll fit in the Brewers' crowded outfield. "It's going to be a good thing, having a lot of options and a lot of weapons, especially in September. It gives you a lot of flexibility."

Who loses the roster spot? Even if it doesn't matter right now with rosters expanding, someone would lose a playoff roster spot should we make it...

Well Orf was already DFA'd off the 40-man for Cedeno. Gonna have to make two more cuts for Gonzalez and Granderson. That is going to be rough. If I were Jordan Lyles or Jake Thompson, I wouldn't feel super comfortable.

A lot needs to play out yet before they need to worry about a playoff roster.

I bet they just bring up Nottingham now as a 3rd catcher, though, rather than try to create another roster spot for Bandy or Bethancourt.

Maybe. But Braun is actually an OF and RH. Thames has no place on the 25 come October. As of today at least, we'll see.

Braun could bat .800 and we’d still have to read these types of posts.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

These are quotes I love seeing:

More Granderson: "I'm not there to disrupt stuff. ... I've always looked at myself as a little piece of the puzzle that just fits in. You tell me where to go and how you need me, and I'll try to adapt accordingly."

Building depth is a great thing.

What type of posts?

Thames is better than Braun offensively and defensively it is not that wide of a margin.

Even with Thames bad defense in the OF he is still a better player than Braun is right now.

Ryan Braun has cooled off a bit last few games, but Thames has been even worse lately. Granted, being a lefty gives him platoon advantage with facing more righties, so I'll give you Thames on offense by a bit, but it's a lot closer than being made out. And defense is no question in Braun's favor by a significant margin in the outfield, and neither are playing 1b right now.
