Gio Gonzalez has been officially informed of the #Brewers trade. He was earning $12 million, so even more savings for the #Nats. They will pay a portion of Gonzalez's remaining salary

I can't see him being worse than Guerra and Peralta as of late, so glad we got him

Two minor Leaguers going back

Two minor leaguers for one month of a total washed pitcher. Garbage.

Last year, Gonzales had a sub-3.00 ERA. Probably a bit unluckier this year.

Might be interesting to see if he comes back on a one or two-year "prove it" deal.

Cool. They need serviceable depth. Just because he's not a good pitcher anymore doesn't mean this will be a bad trade. He's probably better than some of the alternatives. If he can just have 2 fewer implosions than the guy(s) he's replacing, that could make all the difference.

ETA: fully acknowledging that he might have just as many implosions as Guerra/Peralta lately.

You probably thought the same thing when the Cubs acquired Cole Hamels...How's that worked out for them??

I suppose you're right but no one saw that coming (Hamels production).
