Yelich goes 6 for 6, hits for the cycle, and sends the game winning home run over the fence in the top of the ninth. Calling it now.

Following on Gameday - what the hell is taking so long between pitches?

Hamilton scored on a wild pitch, which was reviewed because the ump thought he missed the plate. He got it, though.

Even before that though, seemed like a good two minutes between pitches.

let me make sense on Hader for you Joey.

First the guy only has only two pitches and that won't cut it as a starter.

second if now he gets eight days off per appearance now making him a starter will have him pitch every ten days under CC

Your first point makes sense. Your second point doesn't. At all. He came up as a starter. He is more or less on a starters schedule right now, only as a reliever. There is no reason he wouldn't be able to take the ball every 5 days as a starter and give them a starter's innings.

I don't see any reason to question Hader's durability as a starter. It is all about the pitch mix. He needs a third pitch and he has been put in a situation where developing it is almost impossible to do. So they either have to make him a starter and just pray it develops or keep him a RP and assume it never will. There isn't a really comfortable middle ground.

Soria back out? Jeffress to try to get us to extras? Either way we are almost out of pitchers that give us a chance ti win.

Shaw is not clutch.

His clutch stats say otherwise.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

In 2018, per baseball-reference.com's "clutch stats", Travis Shaw is hitting .216 when the Brewers are behind. In "late and close" situations, he's hitting .203. Since it's late and close, and we're behind, both metrics apply, and I wouldn't say either of those would support your assessment that he's "clutch".
