Mudcats Recommendations

Greenleaf1

The wife and I are going to Raleigh next weekend and going to the last Mudcats home game of the year on Saturday.

Anybody have any good recommendations for things to see/do in the area (or even just what food to get at the ballpark). I've only ever been to a few Timber Rattlers games as far as the Minor Leagues go and that was years ago, so I'm not really sure what to expect from the ballpark.

I live in a Raleigh suburb and we attend quite a few Muscats games every year. The food/drink at the park is absolutely nothing to write home about. They do have a restaurant at the park but I've never actually eaten there. The park is a bit outside of Raleigh but it is a really easy in/out and an easy drive back after a game depending on where exactly you are staying in Raleigh. The atmosphere is fantastic for a high A ball park. The Brewers have spent some money on things like "the largest screen in the league" and such. Wear your Brewer gear, they love that. Players are always accessible down the left field line and they are very engaged with the fans most nights. The bullpens are just at the end of the dugouts and I always find it interesting to be in on the conversations that go on there. I've never had a poor experience there. As the team is currently constructed, this isn't one of the more talented teams they've had there but there are almost always chatty scouts behind home plate.

There is a TON to due in Raleigh and the surrounding area. It really just depends on what your interests are. My oldest and I are actually going to be in DC that weekend to catch a couple of games against the Nationals. We've been here about five years now and we absolutely love it. Feel free to PM me and we can get more detailed about what to do and see if you like.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave
