This is such a weird team. So Jekyll and Hyde.

They get blown out often and have so many holes. And yet they also deliver dramatic wins.

I can't believe they'll make the wild card game, but what do I know?

Stearns and management let the team down. Once again, Theo Epstein shows us why he can consistently make all the right moves but Stears cant pull triggers because he is too tight.

Not saying Stearns is awful but he isnt Theo or other managers who get the best deals to secure a playoff spot.

Question, are you a Brewer fan? You say this in just about every thread. We get it.

What you don't mention are the moves where Theo is blowing 34M a year on Darvish and Chatwood. Stearns would not have the luxury of making other moves if he did that as there would be no money left to spend.

what is your point? I read the same comments about every game or player daily. If I repeated myself about stearns then maybe its because every time i see hamels win another game for the cubs it reminds me how stearns didnt want to give up a top 5 prospect to get a solid playoff team. We had clear and present bullpen problems yet we go cheap and get soria. Cleveland goes aggressive AGAIN and gives up a #1 prospect and #17 on the pipeline for Hand to stabilize their pen. And they gave up a #1 prospect to get Miller in 16.

All the gurus said we couldnt make a trade because we didnt wanna give up a top dude.

Never mind cheap rentals like Murphy that the Cubs also got at 2nd base. WTH?

The only credit Ill give stearns is that we truly are set up for next year. Our farm system and OD roster will be solid. And once again we will have super prospects to trade. As long as we dont waive or trade future studs like scooter or kris davis for fake players.

So you're saying we had clear and present bullpen problems and yet you're still complaining that we went out and got Soria? You know he was one of the best bullpen arms available at the deadline, right? You would have really rather have given up Keston Hiura to get Hand? How would that have helped the rotation or put more runs on the board for us?

Blame Albers, blame Jennings, blame Chacin all you want but we're going to score 1 freaking run. We were shut out 13 of 15 innings last night. The offense has been the problem going on two years now.

Yup. If you can't score it won't matter who is pitching. Our offense has been anemic since the ASB. The only good thing about last night is the Cards also lost...
