I'm happy for some of you that can remain positive in all circumstances.

I just hope you can start to understand WHY, when it's June and all is well, and the birds are chirping and the flowers blooming, and we're 18 games over .500 and have the best record in the NL, that many, many of us are still saying "Hold on. It's really early. Let's revisit this in a couple months."

We've seen how this story ends. Many times. It's got numerous alternate endings, but very few of them end up being good.

After we started “rebuilding” it was at least exciting to watch guys get a second chance and the prospects. What’s exciting about the organization now? I’m with the crowd on trading high on a few guys this offseason. You have to either completely recommit to the rebuild or go out and buy some top tier players. Anything else will cement this organization in patch up mode again. There simply is not enough star power on this team, aside from JJ and Hader. You need a top tier pitching staff and average offense or average pitching and great hitting. It sucks that those of us who have followed this team our whole lives keeps getting this poor product.

It's inescapable at this point. They have done this to the point that this is who they are. Unfortunately that means I stop investing dollars until they prove otherwise.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

I actually found the 2016 season to be a ton of fun. You knew we weren't going anywhere, but that was okay because at least you weren't disappointing. Finding out what you had in your young guys and who you were getting for guys like Lucroy and Smith was very enjoyable.

Didn't upgrade at C.

Didn't upgrade at SS.

Arguably downgraded at 2B.

Didn't upgrade at SP.

Everything we got is what we decided we wanted. We wanted Arcia's weak stick back, we wanted Schoop's free swinging bat, we wanted to stick with the guys we had in the rotation. We wanted to stick with Pina and Kratz at catcher even though very good rental catchers were available for far less than we paid to rent Moose and Soria.

In every sense of the word, the Milwaukee Brewers got exactly what they wanted this trade deadline.

I appreciate what David Stearns has done, and he's the right man for this job, but let's be clear-- he blew it this trade deadline. This is a learning experience he needs to own. Whether by coincidence or intent, he's began a bit of a trend in unconventional, outside the box moves. He got away with it when he kept the OF logjam in tact after Yelich and Cain were acquired.

He did not get away with it this time.

It remains to be seen if he blew it.

Obviously, they stood down thus far. We were the #1 team in the NL but other teams upgraded and have seemingly passed us. Doesnt look good for us but we do have a weak schedule coming up and maybe we can get hot in October.

Your 3rd place Milwaukee Brewers....

I figured we'd blow this eventually, just not already by August 18th.

Kudos to whoever the hell the new manager is for the Cardinals that has basically turned their season around completely.

Well at least they weren't shut out. Two solo homeruns and now in third place in the division. The downward spiral continues thanks to Stearns and his moves at the deadline.

Oh for Christ sake. It's bad but we aren't going to lose 18 out of the next 20.we play Cincy and Pittsburg abt 18 times. It's time to throw Braun in there 5 times out of 6 games if his feeble body can manage it. Then you put thames on the end of the bench and perez can be the 4th OF or have thames get a sudden knee problem and bring up Domingo ten days early. Thames is sxxt on a stick lately

Stearns' dumb moves at the deadline are not the only reason this season is circling the drain. Our approach at the plate is just dreadful. We strike out at an alarming rate and have a devil of a time manufacturing runs. This bunch has a knack of making mediocre pitchers look like Cy Young candidates. I stopped watching the game last night after we got behind by 3 runs. They are the ultimate teasers to us fans. :(

I wouldn't be so sure. And if we win a few of the next 18 what difference will it make?? This team is a disappointment yet again. It's almost like Ground Hog day.
