I am so glad we stood pat on catchers when good catchers were available for basically nothing and are stuck with a near 40 year old journeyman career replacement level catcher as the only healthy one on our roster.

Adding a catcher wasn't going to make the difference.

Come on Brewers, I've almost reached the acceptance stage, take me back to anger or at least bargaining.

If I’m being honest, apathy has started to set in for me as well. I hope they turn things around, but I’m not expecting it.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

That's where I'm at. Unfortunately my oldest son chose going to DC and watching the Brewers paly a couple of games there as his father/son trip this summer. So I have that to look forward to.

Yup, we had three black holes on offense and Stearns improved the best of the three. Then proceeded to double up and added another at the same position. He totally disregarded defense in doing so, but didn’t improve C and SS...because of...defense? Good thing we didn’t pick up a starter too!

Even better: Jonathan Schoop has more ABs than Travis Shaw in August...what on earth are we doing? What a disaster...

Ramos over Kratz would be a significant difference.

Kratz single handedly just cost us 3 runs, also.

Kratz wasn't the only reason they scored three runs. A botched DP and a misplayed pop up, among other things, played a large role. Even a significant upgrade at catcher was not going to save this team.

Except that Ramos has been on the DL since before the deadline, and just came off on the 15th...

I get what you are saying, but he would have been zero help on the DL, until now...

He missed 2 weeks. That's it. We knew he would. Everyone did. He would have been back before Pina got hurt.

Deep thought: Do batters get disproportionately more pissed off on pop-ups compared to groundouts, or are they just more likely to show emotion since they don't have to run to first base?

I think a popup means they just missed it on the bat so it's probably frustration that they didn't square it up and hit it hard somewhere.

and he has played a grand total of 3 games since returning from the DL. He wouldn't have taken the field for us until August 15th, 3 days ago.

EDIT: He went on the DL July 14th, and came off August 15th.
