Makes me upset to know the Brewers will be probably be losing their wildcard spot today to the Cardinals. For how awesome it was watching this team the first half, it has been equally infuriating watching them in the second half.

Inconsistent offense, questionable bullpen management, head scratching trades...

With that said, Go Crew, stomp the red birds today!

Similar to last year, and a few years before that. You just cant expect to trot out subpar players and expect above average results over the course of the entire season.

Not sure you can say they have subpar players. Yes, some are, but they also have a lot of talent. Subpar starting pitching for sure. All of us knew that was going to catch up to the team in the end.

I wasnt saying all of them are subpar. Pitching staff was what I was referring to, as well as the middle infield.

Miley

4.91 K/9

4.24 BB/9

.238 BABIP

83.0% LOB

6.5% HR/FB

4.82 xFIP

2.23 ERA

Hopefully today is not the day when it all falls apart.

His secondary stats are all positively horrible. Yet the guy has been our best pitcher the past month.

By my count (although I'm sure Braun is available to PH), we are playing with 3 guys day to day and one available catcher who is 38 years old.

Nothing like rolling the dice with a skeleton roster in a pennant race.

Come on Brewers, I've almost reached the acceptance stage, take me back to anger or at least bargaining.

LOL no doubt, I just started following packer news more than Brewers in the last few days, I usually listen to at least part of the Brewers games when I am home and didn't even feel like it last night :( The need to turn this thing around fast.

Villar just hit a 3 run homer while the Fox announcers were discussing the trade and that now he gets a chance to play. I realize why CC didn't want to play him but too bad we got Schoop. A starting pitcher would have been nice. Not seeing the trade as a win for Stearns so far.

I agree, "falling apart" is a matter of when, not if.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

That's that part that is hard to swallow for me. If they blow this again this year, this is exactly who they are now. The team that blows it every chance they get. Chokers. That is already the perception to some degree but it will solidify if it happens again.

The Brewers won the NL Central in 2011 by 6 games. It was never lower than 4.5 in the past few weeks. They were tied for the lead at the All-Star game. The season does not fit the they always start strong and then fade narrative that seems so common here.

Does anyone know the story behind Counsell’s navy blue wristband that reads “We’ve Got This”? Haven’t noticed him wearing that before, but maybe I just haven’t been very observant. I’ve also missed several games this week for the first time all season, so maybe it’s been explained?

No but '98, '99, '01, '06, '07, '08, '09, '14, '17, '18 do. All either leading the division or within striking distance around the all star break or later.
