Carolina 5, Potomac 4

Carolina Collects Another Walk-Off in 5-4 Win Versus Potomac

The Mudcats picked up their 11th walk-off victory of the season on Friday night

cut.jpg

Christian Taugner was staked to a 4-0 lead in the first inning but could not hold it. He yielded 4 runs over 6 innings of work. After scoring the four runs in the bottom half of the first, the Mudcats would not score again until the 10th when they got the walk off sac fly from Dallas Carroll. Tremendous work in this game by Daniel Brown. He came in with the bases loaded and one out and got out of that jam with no runs scored. He then pitched two scoreless innings to pick up the win. Weston Wilson and Cooper Hummel had run scoring doubles in the first.

Christian Taugner: 6 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 5 K

Daniel Brown: 2 2/3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K

Mario Feliciano: 2-5

Weston Wilson: 2-5, 2B

Cooper Hummel: 2-3, 2B

Ryan Aguilar: 2-4, 2B

Be sure to read the full summary in the first link above. Such an event-filled game. Both teams victimized by poor defense. Ten hits for the H-Crew (and 11 walks and an HBP!), still lose, this one was a tough defeat. Brice Turang on base four times, drove in three. Third baseman Connor McVey on base three times in his Pioneer League debut.
