Is it that easy to tell already? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

How can you not love a guy who says something like this:

"I'll go wherever they want me to go, as soon as they want me. I'm just happy they have given me to opportunity to go out and play. I am going to take advantage of it."

Coach: Steve, I want you to jump.

Steve: How high, coach?

Looks like signing concerns about 6th round high school OF Stephen Chapman may be overblown:

Tallahassee Democrat --

Marianna outfielder Stephen Chapman, an Auburn signee, was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the sixth round (166th overall) after working out for team officials last Saturday in Milwaukee.

Chapman expects to bypass college for professional baseball. Chapman was one of the Big Bend's most scrutinized prep players, playing in front of a large contingent of scouts each week.

"I couldn't have asked for a better situation," Chapman said.

"It was definitely nerve-wracking during the regular season because you are playing in front of 20 and 30 scouts. But once I settled down and started to relax, it was a lot of fun. Right now I am just kind of soaking it up and enjoying the moment."

I think Im happiest with the Chapman signing out of any that could have signed.

Being a 6th rounder he had a lot going for him but it wasn't like he was taken in the first three rounds which provides good money. He had a strong commitment ot Auburn from what I read and he was going to be considered a tough sign. Auburn's coach said that he had the most ready bat he's seen from HS going to his program in 15 years (or something like that).

Bottom line, he's a fairly advanced outfield bat with good speed for defense...he's definatly a guy that Im excited about and can't wait to see how he fairs this year against some fellow rookie leaguers.

I really think this kid has got some potential to be the first prospect out of this draft to reach the bigs.
