2018-08-14: Brewers (Chacín) at Cubs (Quintana) 1:20 PM CDT [Brewers win, 7-0]

Eye Black
I know those are bad calls but we've seen them a hundred times called incorrectly when they're that close. It sucks but it's kind of the nature of baseball these days so it really shouldn't be something to throw tantrums over. For the most part our guys take them in the stride

Would be awesome if they can get this W and not have to use JJ or Hader..

With a day off Thursday I'm ok using either for an inning

True. I guess my main thought is, it would be nice to have them available to cover 3-4 innings combined tomorrow. The rest of the bullpen should be able to hold a 6 run lead for 2 innings.

Nope - they just had a day off and have an off day thursday...use your best to lock down a win against the team you are chasing and use the days off to your advantage.

I don't want Knebel or a fresh off the DL Williams throwing a meaningful pitch in this game, regardless of the score. No lifelines on a game like today, I don't care if it looks too aggressive.

On that note, have yourself a game, Mr. Chacin!

Am I the only one that now is terrified seeing Knebel up for the next inning ....

It's 6 runs. If he struggles JJ finishes it. I'm not worried when JJ is available yet. Knebel in the 9th sucked cuz most of the time Jeffress was used already in those games.

It's a six (Well, 7 now as I type this) run lead. Just have a short-ish leash and pull him for Jeffress or Hader if he gives up a run or a couple of baserunners.

Oh I know this but this is a game you don’t want to give them life in - warm humid game at Wrigley - I’ve seen too many that were ‘in hand’ only to be sick by the end.

I remember one where Aramis Ramirez hit that 3 run homer in the bottom of the 9th in one we were up by like 5 or 6 at one point.

Let’s get this !!!!!!
