Final: DSL Rangers2 10, DSL Brewers 9 (10 Innings)

 

The DSL Brewers went to extra innings again on Wednesday, falling to the Rangers2 by a score of 10-9. Alwinson Valdez led the offense, reaching base four times, going 3-for-5 with a walk. He belted his seventh home run of the season and drove in five runs while also scoring twice. Johnny David went 3-for-5 with a double and Juan Frias, Victor Maria and Daniel Castillo each recorded multi-hit games. Henry Medina started and went five innings, allowing four runs (two earned) and Deybi Arias was charged with the loss after giving up one run in just a third of an inning.

Final: DSL Rangers 9, DSL Indians/Brewers 1

 

The Brewers' co-op team saw their record drop to 19-36 as they were roughed up by the Rangers other DSL team, 9-1. Designated hitter Roberto Molina reached base safely in three of his four trips to the plate with a single, a walk and a hit-by-pitch. Alejandro Marte went 2-for-4 with a triple and Jose Arteaga added a triple as well. Daniel Acosta was the only Milwaukee pitcher used in the game and he worked to just one batter, recording the final out in the ninth.

The Tennessee Smokies shut down Biloxi bats on Wednesday while Marcos Diplan was roughed up on the mound. It resulted in a 6-1 lose. Diplan gave up seven hits (including two HRs), three walks and six runs in 4.1 innings.

 

Biloxi's offense was tepid, managing seven hits and a walk. And outside of a Corey Ray HR, the team scattered their baserunners throughout the game (after Ray's leadoff HR, the team never had more than one hit or walk in an inning, and they never got a batter beyond 1st base). Trent Grisham and Clint Coulter each had a pair of singles on the day.

Mudcats Avoid Sweep with 5-4 Walk-Off Win

Cooper Hummel scored the winning run in the ninth as Carolina earned its tenth walk-off victory

Victor Diaz got the start and went 5 innings giving up three runs. Rodrigo Benoit, in his Carolina debut, struck out 6 in two innings while giving up one run. Cody Beckman worked the final two innings and picked up the win. Dallas Carroll and Cooper Hummel had two hits for the Mudcats.
