What a let down, I remember back in May when we hit our peak a lot of the predictor models said we would regress. Here we are 2+ months later and I am starting to believe that maybe we are really just a .500 team that just got off to a hot start. I know we are still in wildcard position but getting discouraged by the treading water we have been doing. Oh well, like I said earlier it's only one game but this felt like a key one going forward. Overreacting at a down point I am sure but we are going to battle for the wildcard right to the end IMO, wish we wouldn't have made the Schoop trade.

Won 9 of the last 14 games (10-6 after the all-star break). Interesting time to post something like this. We have play the Nationals, Dodgers (7 times), Rockies, and Giants in that span. I think overreacting is a safe word to use.

But just playing .500 ball over a much longer sample size, maybe the new players make a difference, certainly a better looking lineup every day. But if we go .500 from here on out it's coin flip if we make the playoffs with so many team contending. It's the game thread, just posting my frustrations with the team after a tough loss. 10-6 is nice but the continued failure to finish off good starts to series sorta sucks.

Disappointing loss today, but I'm pretty encouraged after seeing this series. After this one and the last series in Colorado, I truly believe the Brewers are the better team. If so, the NL comes down to the Braves, Phillies, Nationals, Cubs, Brewers, Dodgers and Diamondbacks. Brewers are one of seven teams trying to get one of the five spots. And the Nationals put themselves in a real hole by sleepwalking through most of this season. They are 6 games behind the Brewers.

Good take.

Is it me or did Scoop take forever to turn that double play in the 9th?? Whoa. Did that run come back to haunt us.

I was at the game today and didn’t have the advantage of multiple replays, but it looked to me like Arcia lost a split second getting a handle on the ball.

That was a big play, but I tend not to dwell on the “if only” scenarios because who knows exactly what happens if the score is 3-1 instead of 4-1. There are always a lot of plays in a close game that could tip the balance.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Bruised crew was correct on his thoughts of Arcia
