Gausman to Braves

And That

Recommended Posts

Gausman isn’t any good. We are fine without him.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Gausman has the kind of stuff to have an Arrieta like resurgence once he gets out of Baltimore. Depending on the cost I think it could hurt to lose out on him.

I agree with this assessment.

Stearns is too attached to his prospects.

I don't know how you can say that without even knowing who they gave up.

And the fact that he has shipped plenty of prospects in his short time as a GM. Just throwing a fit.

Even with the addition of O'Day and the presumed negative value his contract status might carry I still have a hard time believing that the ask from Baltimore was that expensive. It looks like the return is pretty light and could gave been easily matched by the crew. Maybe they didn't see Gausman as an upgrade. I guess time will tell.

Braves have Gausman for 2 1/2 years to see if they can turn him and his stuff around.

Seems like the price Atlanta paid wasn't that bad. One top thirty prospect and three others. Did The crew let one slip away?

Atlanta also sent $2.5M in international bonus pool money to the O's. That is not an insignificant number, and it could put the O's over the top for that Cuban pitcher.

You don't? Sometimes you just know if you're negative enough.
