Give me your boldest prediction

Trade deadline is this afternoon...give me your boldest predictions that aren't too far out of the realm of possibilities.

Here is mine:

1. Trade Luis Ortiz, Corey Ray, and Trey Supak for Tigers OF Nick Castellanos

He young, productive, and has control through 2019. Stearns makes this move because he sees the DH coming to the NL next year and can move Thames to a DH role. Tigers aren't contending next year so they are willing to part ways.

2. Trade Tristen Lutz, Maricio Dubon, and Cody Ponce for Mets RHP Zack Wheeler.

Mets flinch and take the best offer on the table. They get a major league ready prospect in Dubon and add talent and depth to their terrible farm system. We get a quality arm this year and next year.

Our 2019 lineup looks like this:

Cain CF

Yelich LF

Aguilar 1B

Shaw 3B

Castellanos RF

Thames DH

Hiura 2B

Pina/Nottingham C

Arcia SS

Starting rotation of...

Nelson

Anderson

Wheeler

Chacin

Burnes

What are your crazy bold moves?

The boldest part of your prediction is the DH coming to the NL next year because there is about .01% chance of that happening.

My bold prediction is that Stearns will get a middle to back of the rotation starter with control beyond this year. Wheeler, Fiers, or Gausman is my guess.

Danny Duffy. The fact he got roughed up in his last start after a string of very good ones tells me he himself was sensing something. Hard to see KC competing in the 3 seasons remaining on his deal, and they simply can't risk his value falling even with a fairly reasonable contract.

Brewers send Burnes, Ray, Lutz, Diplan and a flyer to be named to the Mets for Syndergaard. Mets can't get what they want for Wheeler and are tired of watching Thor not pitch, get ML ready starter to replace him and a near ML ready CF to stick with their not rebuilding plan, plus a couple of other prospects to bolster their system. Brewers take big gamble on often injured ace but still keep Huira/Peralta, something they couldn't do with deGrom.

Sure not going to happen, Mets would likely balk at not getting Hiura, but trying to come up with something bold that would hurt in prospects yet still make me happy. But maybe a deal they could make in the off season.

Brewers get Realmuto, Gausman, and Shoop. Shaw included to Baltimore. We are set for this year and next with the best offense in the NL. Moose loves Milwaukee and the fans and signs a 2 year 30 mil extension.

LOVE IT! Who needs a farm system anyways?

Shaw going to BAL lessens the blow of prospects. Ive stated before prospects are prospects til they are not anymore. :). If you can turn prospect capital into Realmuto - who may be the best all around catcher in baseball for a few years... I do believe we do it !

IS THIS BOLD ENOUGH? :laughing

Brewers make 2 (!!!) big trades today:

1. Send a package of prospects headlined by Hiura to Miami for Realmuto.

2. Send a package of players and prospects, headlined by Shaw and Peralta, to Baltimore for Schoop, Gausman and 3B prospect Ryan Mountcastle. Schoop effectively negates losing Hiura as the 2B for the next few seasons. Gausman becomes a TOR starter. Mountcastle and Erceg battle it out for the "3B of the future (and present)" moniker.

These won't happen, but hey, you said bold.

Edit: Wow YelichPosse, our bold predictions are almost freakily lockstep.

Yes that is very curious. It seems you guys have inside sources and this is what is going to happen.

I seriously was working on something else, and had my post half done sitting open for 10 minutes. Totally freaky how close they are.

It actually makes a lot of sense. If this were fantasy baseball, Out of the Park baseball, MLB2K , whatever... it would be something I would do. And enjoy pulling the trigger too!

If the Brewers dont get anything done before 2:58 - They will trade for Harvey

I think I heavily agree with this. I have a hunch Stearns and the Reds have a contingency deal agreed to ... "if we don't get anyone else by the deadline ... we'll send you A & B for Harvey".

Also, to the next poster who said something about Sonny Gray ... I think I'm on board if that can happen. Reunite him with Derek Johnson and let him lead the charge.

Add me to that. I think Sonny would benefit greatly from being in Milwaukee, I really do

Here's bold (and virtually impossible):

The Brewers trade the entire roster of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, split evenly between the Mets and Marlins, for Wheeler and Syndergaard, as well as Realmuto.

The Marlins, being the Marlins, take their share of players that they receive and trade them to the Yankees for a bag of balls and a ton of money. Those same players all turn out to be all-stars for the Yankees, who win the World Series every year from 2022-2028, thanks to our former players.

Hey, it'd STILL be worth it if the Brewers won their first title this season.

Boldest prediction: We trade for Brian Dozier and rotate days off for Shaw, Moustikas and Dozier between 2b and 3b much the way we have been for Braun/Thames/Aguilar. We send Saladino down when Villar is back and run with a 13 position players and 12 pitchers. Starting Next week we have a day off every week for the rest of the year and with September expansion we can add plenty of pitchers to give our staff a break. Villar and Perez are the backups for SS- Perez and Yelich the backups for CF.

I do predict we add a starter too but I wouldn't even want to throw a guess out there.
