Very happy with this move. Hopefully he can continue his hot hitting ways.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Agreed. He literally just need to be a slightly below average hitter to have tons of value.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

If it’s Saladino they don’t believe in his hot start because over the last month he has been a bad hitter and played terrible defense.

Damn, poor Lopez managed to pitch three perfect innings and keep his pitch count astoundingly low just to avoid this.

Good call to get Arcia back up. He was damn good in AAA.

Soria, Albers likely back tomorrow. Villar can't be far behind. Trade deadline in 5 days. Going to be some major roster shakeup.

I cant believe Perez and his .289 OBP survives. Counsell must just love him

Perez can play all four IF positions, all three OF positions, and he can pitch for an inning or two in a real emergency.

That sort of versatility is a huge asset in and of itself.

There was only one big bat out there and the price was too high.

Since the remaining bats or starting pitchers aren't game changing...shore up the bullpen and defense and keep trying to win those close games. Maybe they can add a bat at 2B. I hope Arcia's bat is a little better, but regardless they could really use that glove.
