Zack Brown exits after just 3 2/3 innings and 48 pitches. I am hoping this was preplanned as some sort of pitch/inning count....

Think it was an injury

After landing awkwardly on the mound, Zack Brown exits the game for Shuckers in the fourth. He walks off under his own power, and Jon Perrin now into the ballgame for Biloxi.

Stokes with a walkoff bomb. Ray adds two doubles to his HR tonight, and Gatewood ain't going quietly as he matches Ray with his 19th.

Brown's injury sounds like a leg issue and not an arm issue, so that's a good thing.

Agreed, that is a very good thing that it is not an arm or shoulder.

Final: Ogden 4, Helena 1

Bats Fall Silent As Ogden Evens Series

Raptors Take Two Run Lead In First & Never Trail

By Greg Mroz / Helena Brewers

cut.jpg

Helena, MT - A day after shutting out Ogden, the Brewers offense had troubles of their own, never finding rhythm against Raptors starter Jose Chacin. Helena scored just one run, and Ogden took a two run lead early and never trailed, winning 4-1 to even the series.

Ogden's bats woke up from last night's lull right away as a one out single from Drew Avans scored on a double from Dillon Paulson. Ronny Brito then added to the tally with a two out single of his own, making it 2-0 Ogden.

Helena starter Max Lazar (L, 1-2) settled down from there, holding Ogden scoreless in the second, but a series of weird plays helped extend the Raptors lead to 3-0 in the third. Brito reached on a one out error, and before Niko Hulsizer stepped in the batters box, Lazar asked the umpire for a new baseball. He threw the ball he currently had into the Brewers dugout, but didn't realize that the ball was still live. Brito was awarded second base, and scored on a two out double from Tre Todd.

Chacin allowed just two hits through the first four innings, but a single from Luis Avila advanced to third in the fifth on a throwing error from Brito. With runners at second and third with one out, Jean Carmona drove home Helena's first run of the game with a ground out to short. Chad McClanahan though struck out to end the inning.

From there the Brewers offense couldn't capitalize on opportunities, leaving the tying runs at first in the seventh and eighth innings. Ogden added an insurance run in the ninth, and Helena couldn't muster anything in the bottom of the frame.

The Brewers seek to get back on track tomorrow as they host Ogden for the penultimate game of the first half. Justin Bullock takes the ball for Helena, opposed by Kevin Malisheski.
