2018-07-20: Dodgers (Hill) at Brewers (Miley) 7:10 PM CDT [Brewers lose, 6-4 -- Now 7 consecutive losses]

Eye Black

last 7 games: 1 homerun

BA .217. Alot of Ks.

I was glad Counsell gave the big man a few games off to try to restart the big man instead of chasing outside sliders. Hopefully he is refreshed now.

He hit 12 HRs on Monday. He is fine

I like that they went back to Cain and Yelich at the top, but boy our 5-9 is rough.

Saladino, Perez, Pina, Broxton, Miley is not a consistent run producing group. Let’s hope Miley is on, and we get some early runs.

Let's face it, if we have to continue to trot that line-up out there or one similar on a daily basis, there is no possible chance that we can remain in the chase for a wild card spot, much less a play off spot. This may seem like a negative take, and that bothers some around here, but just look at that mess. This is what we throw out there when we just have a break, get to reset the line-up, etc?

It's depressing is what it is. Why is Wade Miley the guy we go to after the break? Why?

That line-up 6-8 is just pathetic for a MLB club. I'm not including Saladino in that statement, he has been fine, but at #5 in the line-up? I'd be really happy to have a guy like him hitting 7 or 8.

(of course I hope I am jinxing myself and Miley fires off 7 innings of 1 run ball tonight)

Be careful... You are bordering on “Debbie Downer” status here! Lol.

Btw, I completely agree with you.

Matt Carpenter- 5 for 5, 3 HR’s and 2 Doubles today vs the Cubs.
The new manager took him out in the 6th with 2 more plate appearances left vs. position players I don't like the new skipper already.

Everyone is anointing LA as the best team in the NL since they got Machado. I hope Miley puts one in his ribs.

I feel that Hader should get at least one inning tonight regardless of the score. Getting him back on the mound as quick as possible would be beneficial for him.

Basically not ready emotionally tonight or something. I just hope this doesn't tailspin into a nightmare second half of the season for him.

agreed.

26 pitches on Tueday should not make him unavailable on Friday.

Get him back out there and see what happens.

I found that strange as well. Let him put up some historic marks.

It would be nice to see Miley do that as well, but only if it gets him tossed from the game ;)

Counsell has already said straight up he's not pitching tonight.

Seems odd to think of the Dodgers with Machado, Muncy, Kemp as their 2-4

Seems odd to think of Kemp as good again! He was pretty mediocre for a long stretch. Same with heyward but I think he'll suck again.

I know, and that should not be the case unless there is an injury concern.

I had the same reaction. I assume there is some unknown logic to it? Why are the Dodgers starting Rich Hill? I thought teams started their #1 coming out of the break.
