Did this team overachieve the first part of the season? They just don’t seem like a great baseball team right now.

I think that's probably accurate.

CC doesn’t get the blame for “not seeing it coming”. He gets the blame for having a fresh bullpen and leaving a guy in after it’s obvious he doesn’t have it.

Yep. I'm ok that he pulled Miley, I get it, but like Knebel last game, absolutely no response to a reliever clearly not having his good stuff on a particular night.

Counsell is a good enough manager but has zero feel and recognition for when a guy in his pen isn't right.

Getting the third out at home plate with the pitcher running and with Jesus coming to bat, and what should have been a man on 2nd and 3rd was just not the right move Ed.

No way jesus sees anything to hit there anway.

Love this powerhouse offense. Makes me sick.

You're about to eat your words here

Nah buddy.

I wonder how secretly annoyed Derek Johnson is with Darnell Coles.

The bullpen being nearly perfect in April and May allowed them to win a lot of games despite the consistently short starts and an offense that gets shut down, if not shut out, way too often. Whether heavy use in high leverage situations is a factor or not, almost everyone in the bullpen has slipped and a number of those close wins have been turning into close losses.

Unless they can add some significant pieces to fill some of the holes (and soon) they’re going to have a hard time maintaining even the .500 pace of the last 6 weeks against a much tougher schedule.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

time to send Broxton down and let Santana give it a whirl

Other than one game with two bombs, Santana has been a slap hitter in Colorado Springs. Although even having a hitter who can hit singles would be nice right now, I'm not sure if he's the guy for the job.

Why, he hasn't earned a call back yet, and from the looks of things, he still isn't right...

Free Phillips!

Also hasn't played worth a damn this year. None of the options are good.

I just don't want them to do anything stupid while chasing ghosts. I trust DS to not do that.
