I've been consoling myself over the Brewers losing streak by regularly checking the Biloxi box score. That is one exciting team lately. Erceg has really picked it up. Between Erceg, Ray, Hiura, and Gatewood that's a lot of talent. Hopefully Grisham picks it up a bit too.

FYI - Don't know if there is more to the story but Devin Williams started for High-A Carolina & came out of the game during the 3rd inning vs Lynchburg tonight

He had only given up 1 run (earned) on 1 hit & 1 walk while recording 3 strikeouts (47 pitches, 32 for strikes) during that time..

I wouldn’t be worried.... 2.2 innings today is tied for his 2nd longest outing. He has only finished 3 innings once. My guess is he has a strict 50 pitch, pitch count.

Proud member since 2003 (geez ha I was 14 then)

His second half OPS is now up to .978 which places him among the league leaders.

Raptors Score Ten Unanswered To Sweep Brewers

Helena Loses Three Straight For First Time In 2018

By Greg Mroz / Helena Brewers

cut.jpg

Ogden, UT - On another warm night in Ogden, the Helena Brewers couldn't contain the Raptors offense. With the game tied in the fifth, Ogden scored ten straight over the next three innings, cruising to a 13-4 win over Helena. The Brewers have lost three in a row for the first time this season, and are now four back of Great Falls with just seven games left in the first half.

Ogden scored first for the first time in the series, as three straight singles brought home a run in the first inning. Brewers starter Justin Bullock worked in and out of trouble in the second, and appeared to be out of trouble in the third with two on and two out, as Jair Camargo hit a blooper to shallow right center field. However, miscommunication allowed the ball to drop and two runs to score, extending Ogden's lead to 3-0.

Helena fought back to tie the game in the fourth, as a leadoff double from Jean Carmona scored on an error, as first baseman Dillon Paulson dropped a ball hit to pitcher Jose Chacin (W, 4-0). David Fry, the batter, got to third, but his advancement was a moot point as LG Castillo hit a two run blast to left, his third of the year, tying the game at three.

It remained tied going into the bottom of the fifth, but Brandon Presley (L,0-1) issued a leadoff walk to Dillon Paulson, and Matt Cogen followed with a two run opposite field shot, giving Ogden the 5-3 lead.

From there, Ogden blew the game open, scoring three in the sixth and five in the seventh. Castillo drove home a run with a single in the eighth, but it was too little too late for Helena, who will play four game series against the Raptors at Kindrick Legion Field on Saturday.

Your Helena Brewers return home on Wednesday for a three game series against the Idaho Falls Chukars.

Final: AZL Padres2 3, AZL Brewers 1

AZL Brewers Box Score

Sloppy game for the Brewers as they commit 6 errors and go 0-9 with runners in scoring position. Brice Turang on base two more times with a single and walk; he stole his second base as well. The only pitcjer to give up an earned run was starter Freisis Adames, who went 3.2 innings allowed said run on 2 hits and 2 walks. Adames struck out 3. Rehabbing Christian Meister made his second AZL appearance and allowed an unearned run on a passed ball and two wild pitches after a bunt single. So it goes.
