If the Brewers were so defeated like some think they wouldn’t keep making rally’s in the 9th.

Maybe they should start making some rallies in the first 8 innings of the game before the game is out of reach anyway.

Rallies in the 9th that don't lead to victories mean nothing.

Yep. I think we're sort of past the point of moral victories of being proud of them not quitting. They need to win a damn game.

It does when it means they just didn’t stop caring and people claim they have lately. Or however you want to word it.

I always do a slight chuckle when someone has a post that lists him in our strong pitching depth. Like you would want that guy anywhere hear your 25 man roster.

Wilerson gotta be over 10.

Given the situation, what choice does Counsell have?

At any rate, this crap show in Pit has a silver lining as Counsell is forcing Stearns hand on Machado or Escobar + Dozier.

Bases loaded.....Villar....another so.

Trade arcia, burns, broxton.

I'm off the trade for Machado bandwagon now. Machado alone is not going to fix everything that ails this team, nor is any other stud on the trading block be it a pitcher or position player. No need to give up prospects anymore. This team needs a leader. Not sure who we are getting but we will be giving up prospects for a controllable player, if not Machado.

Am I the only who thinks Yelich has been a little underwhelming so far? Hopefully he busts out in a big way after the break.

He is pretty much who we thought he was. He is an All Star type player but will never challenge for a batting or HR title or league MVP.

No. He is a good but in no way a great player. I'm happy we have him as a solid addition but he isn't elite.

Scoring garbage runs against mop up relievers is nothing to be excited about.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Everyone said moving from Marlins Park to Miller Park would do wonders for his power. But he hits the ball on the ground a ton. Like top 10 highest GB% rate this year and top 5 since he came to the majors. Not going to increase your power when you're hitting it on the ground all the time. I called him Geoff Jenkins in the game thread yesterday but Jenkins had a good arm and power.

Saw this elsewhere...

MLB teams that recently experienced 5-game losing streaks:

2018 Brewers

2017 Astros

2016 Cubs

2014 Giants

2012 Giants

2011 Cardinals

The last 5 clubs on that list won the World Series.

Not saying the Brewers are winning the World Series. Just saying, you know, baseball.

I don' think they are defeated, just lack confidence. And we do really really bad against some mediocre teams while doing quite well against solid teams [d backs, braves]

We need our division though. Cubs gained ground and blew by us at 1.5 games ahead now. At any rate, too many holes to compete with yanks, Redsox, Astros if we get that far. Even if our lineup is

Cain

Yelish

Shaw

Aguilar

Machado/Escobar

Thames

Braun (dh)

Villar (Dozier)

Pina
