plumbing problem

buckeyesteve

anyone here a plumber??

I have an issue at home when we run the washing machine in the basement on a warm or hot cycle, the upstairs bathtub faucet turns on(hot water). It's two levels above the washer. It seems to turn on when you flush a toilet, or run another sink or something else along with it. I'm not sure if it has turned on without anything else being turned on in the house. Obviously we are wasting a ton of money as the hot water is running right into the bathtub drain but I'm not even sure where to start.

Also - when you do turn the handle on a sink's hot water...it feels very hard to actually turn...like there is some serious pressure preventing it from going on....almost feels like you would break something.

I know this is weird...I'll probably just call a plumber and pay the damn $500 or whatever but maybe it's a simple solution.... ??

I'm not a plumber but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night...

Sounds like your intake valve to your house might be wearing down and be at too high of a pressure.

Hire a plumber sooner rather than later, you don't want anything really bad to happen.
