2018-07-11: Brewers (Peralta) at Marlins (Straily) 6:10 PM CDT [Brewers lose, 5-4 in 12 innings]

Eye Black
Can someone explain to me what managers signal from dugout to catchers? In the past when I've seen this I thought it was for inexperienced catchers. Is Holaday young? Are they calling pitches??

I've wondered this too, it happens a lot, and even with Pina. I thought at first defensive positioning but it's every pitch sometimes.

I know this is an extreme counterfactual and some of the players used to acquire others technically crossed paths, but imagine if we still had Gennett and Segura right now :(

I was thinking that, too. It made total sense to part ways with them and I don't think anybody could have predicted the insane improvement they both showed (maaaaybe Segura), but it's still fun to think about.

He has started roughly 2/3 of the games at 2B, which means out of 92 games, he has been on the bench 30 of those games. That is not even close to a guy who has been given the 2B job the first half of the season.

That's the starting 2B job. He's lost playing time here and there, more often recently, because he has been bad.

He's started more games in the field than newly-minted All Star Jesus Aguilar.

There have been 5 Brewers in the All-Star final vote, 3 have won and 2 have taken second place...can you name them?

Jenkins and Hart were the other winners. Don't know who the losers were.

Correct.

2nd place finishers were 2006 and 2016

Looks like now at 3/5 we have the highest final vote winning percentage in MLB history.

Cards, Reds and Blue Jays are all at 50%

Oops, Segura was the first ever final vote Mariner, so they are 100%, but since he only won due to Brewer fans there is a bit of an * on him

I've got Koskie in 2006 and Braun in 2016.
