Suter to the DL; Wilkerson starting tomorrow

Likely looking ahead to the DH. They do get to call up an additional player for a DH - does the 10-day wait apply for that extra person or do they waive it? Likely though that they call up the extra starter for the first game and send him down for an extra reliever for the 2nd game.

 

Pretty good performance from Wilkerson considering he didn't get in until 3:30am due to flight delays and his luggage didn't make it until the 3rd inning - he had to use someone else's glove and cleats. Might explain the first inning - different shoes can easily throw you off a bit, especially for something so precise as pitching.

10 day does not apply to 26th man. So Wilkerson could be optioned today and play in the doubleheader Saturday. He would have to be optioned back down after Saturday however.

I believe in the rules that you can as it’s treated as a ‘game’ in that respect but if it’s an option or service day it counts as the day.

It looks like they cannot change the 26th man between games:

 

In the case of a doubleheader that is scheduled at least 48 hours in advance, the 26-man Active List limit is in effect for both games of the doubleheader, but the "26th man" cannot be switched between games.

I can't find it now, but I saw that they are hoping Suter will be able to start one of the doubleheader games.
