Ok so this has been a pretty good game and it may be too much to ask since we did this last night. But can we please get an add on run here just to make the 9th less stressful.

Amen. How about two add-ons?

Brewers have had 8 in the pen just about all year. Now with 22 games in a row we decide we only need 7 and one of them weighs what I do. I don't get the management. I like Orf as much as anyone but he needs to go down and get houser or someone back up here.

I think as fans we sometimes gloss over nuances that come with being human. It could be as simple as Hader telling CC he needs an extra day off.

If you're any type of competitor you always want in the game. CC needs to rethink his usage of him. They have enough depth in the bullpen that he doesn't need to always pitch more than one inning per game. The more available he is, the better off the team is.

As competitive as Hader is, I highly doubt this happened.

Nice play there by Miller & nice job by JJ to not let a bad ball/strike call rattle him

Saladino

Yup thanks! Either Craig or Rock said Miller heading to the break... yeah it's their fault & not mine :laughing

He had an ERA of 4 last year...and after tonight's performance, he's already up to 3.27...and his K/9 IP and K/BB rates are actually worse than they were last year.

Plus, his ERA was markedly worse in the second half of 2017 than the first (4.45 vs. 3.63 pre-ASB).

I see a player who I fully expect to regress, which I'll admit is confirmation bias when he lives up to my vote of no-confidence.

It's probably a bit of hyperbole to say he's not a major league pitcher, since his ERA isn't that bad...but he's a player who has me biting my nails any time he shows up in an even moderate-leverage situation.

That is a good point if it had been Oliver Drake I'd be all over Counsell since I know Drake is the worst RP to ever play the game!

I know we have to use ERA as a baseline as there isn't much better. But something that might be a better indicator is scoreless outings. with the small amount of innings ERAs can get out of whack easily. Again, it's his second time giving up runs in like 15 innings. I think both were 3 runs though so it hurts ERA, which might give credence to the one person's point about he's kind of a guy you can tell right away if he has it or not.

That said, he has legit stuff. Upper 90s heater and big slider, normal ingredients for a good reliver. I don't see the big hate for him, there's no reason he shouldn't be able to be used. It's not like he's Drake and other guys of past years where they don't have good stuff. Key of course is the command but stuff is there.

:laughing :rolleyes Line out to the wall, single, ground out, K but here’s come the comments.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I’m wondering if he is penciling in Hader for 3 innings tomorrow because you can’t edpect Wilkerson to go more than 4,5 tops at this point - right?

Wilkerson was stretched out at Colorado Springs. No reason he can't supply a 100-pitch effort, provided he's effective enough to make it that far.
