Yasiel Puig: 4.5 WAR

 

 

Man that trade would have been great on money saved alone. The fact Puig has been 3x better so far...wow. What an epic fail to date.

 

Really odd time to bring up a complaint like this. Because Braun just struck out?

It made me wonder how Puig was doing these days and saw he was still hitting well.

Braun had been a combined 8.2 WAR in 15/16 and Puig had been a combined 2.4 WAR in those same 2 years. Hindsight is amazing.

Whatever Derek Johnson makes to constantly carry a team with a perennially underperforming offense on his back, it isn't enough.

I just don't see how some people can think a starting pitcher is a priority over offense at the trade deadline when this team only scores three runs or less in almost half its games. (42 of 86)

Since there were many signs that it could end this way not really. I was also very pro-trade when it ended up not happening and was pretty confident this would happen. So...not really.

 

Not like this is shocking.
