2018-07-04: Twins (Berrios) at Brewers (Anderson) 3:10 PM CDT [Happy Fourth of July -- Brewers patriotically win 3-2, & sweep the Twins!]

Eye Black
They need to change the rule to eliminate this stupid split-second off the bag when you clearly beat the tag crap. Yet another way replay is taking away from the game, the spirit of the rule is gone in favor of minute technicalities.

This isn't a new thing, that is a long standing rule and something you have to learn to do properly when you are young. Sure now it can be spotted with replay but those players always should have been called out so it isn't really the replay at fault. You should never slide in a way that takes you off the base, if you do that you just didn't slide properly.

Miller just keeps on a hitting.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Kneel before Orf!
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

I still have no illusions that Orf is going to do much while he's up here, but that was awesome! Happy for the guy.

With the OBP skills, I expect he will stay up, and Sogard will be DFAed when Saladino is ready.

Hope you're right

I'd be surprised if Orf OPS'd anything over .650, but will be pleasantly suprised if he proves me wrong. Of course I have absolutely no problem with him replacing Sogard, starting immediately. He literally can't do worse, so I'm absolutely ok with them giving him a shot. If he hits. .225 and plays passable defense, he's an upgrade over Sogard, right now.

Sogard will somehow stay. He’s survived this long being a negative impact on the team, why would I think any differently. Quite frankly it’s gotten embarrassing.

Sogard's ticket out of town is punched when Saladino returns.

I sure hope so but it’s hard to think that way considering they seem to not care how absolutely horrible he is.

They already sent him, down once......he can play multiple positions and they needed a bench guy after Saladino injury.

Won't surprise me at all if he gets sent out again.
