Did anyone notice that in yesterday's game Mauer played 1B and never had a play to him the entire game. I think there was a pickoff play when Orf was on 1st so he actually did touch the ball once. That is really crazy to see from a first basemen.

I just don't see CC's fascination with batting Thames leadoff. You would think you'd put one of your top run producers 3-5.

Our run producers are the only guys who get on base enough to lead off with Cain hurt.

I thought Cain was supposed to be back today?

It's going to be a couple more days after he felt some discomfort in his groin while doing agility drills.

Ah, thanks

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Why in the world does CC group his lefties and righties together in the lineup? It defeats the purpose of having balance. Its not like he's gonna ph for shaw when he inevitably faces all lefties in the late innings. So stupid

To avoid who? Zack Duke? Moyà and his 8.00 ERA? It's not like they have a Hader type reliever to use late.

Our lefties have been hitting lefties well actually besides. It's also not like we have 4 in a row. There are 2 in a row. I care more about having our best hitters at the top than alternating R/L.

If it's a playoff game against a team with a dominant L in the pen then maybe worry about it. Doesn't seem like it's overly important against the Twins right now.

They need to change the rule to eliminate this stupid split-second off the bag when you clearly beat the tag crap. Yet another way replay is taking away from the game, the spirit of the rule is gone in favor of minute technicalities.
