Facebook Broadcasts: thumbs up, or thumbs down?

1) 99% sure you don’t need an account

2) Even if you do just make an account. You can make it as fake and private as you want.

3) Anything with a Facebook app can get it on your TV. Apple TV...definitely can get it on your TV. You may need an account on the apps though.

4) Is it really that big of a deal to your MLB extra innings if a game is on Facebook? You still get it?

Man no one is saying you gotta make an account add your mother and all your high school friends.

You do need an account because I didn't have one and tried watching the first one and couldn't get to the page without one. But then I just did what you said and made a fake account with a fake name that I only use to watch these games.

But these broadcasts are awful and get two thumbs down from me.

The problem isn't the idea of a Facebook game, or the execution of it. That's a separate issue. I live in Illinois so I have to pay for MLB Extra Innings to watch Brewers from the comfort of my recliner. Twice in a week, I could watch every game being played on a day, EXCEPT the one I wanted to see. That's garbage. Eliminate the exclusivity. Let the elderly and shut-ins watch a game on their cable system and not force them to use a product that doesn't suit their needs.

Those of us who live in Wisconsin can't watch any games if we don't subscribe to cable. You miss a couple games a year. I get to see a couple a year.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

You have no problems with posting here, how difficult is it to click over to Facebook and watch the game there? If you're Facebook and you're paying for the rights to air the games, why would allow people to watch it somewhere other than Facebook? It makes no sense, FOX does the exact same thing.

Any type of move toward streaming is bound to skew the audience younger. I can't remember the last time I watched a baseball game on actual "TV" and I've been able to get ahold of all the baseball games I want through various streaming services, some of which I am paying for and others not.

The blackout rule is so incredibly stupid...MLB provides no option for me to watch the home team without a cable subscription so I have to resort to sketchy streaming sites to watch their games. That just seems incredibly dumb since I'm willing to pay for it.

So a big thumbs up to Facebook streaming, hopefully we see more of this in the future. The more mediums the better. No "exclusive" content, no blackouts. Have the games available everywhere.

If you're in market you can get FSWI on pretty much all streaming services, each of which is around $30-40 a month. Sling, Hulu, PS Vue, and YoutubeTV all offer FSWI.

Or you can subscribe to MLB.tv and then get a VPN and if your VPN happens to have you in, say, Seattle... you can watch all the Brewers games (but then you can't access bf.net )
