Braun back in the lineup today. No Yelich.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I was going to lose it if one of Braun/Yelich didn't return today OR the Brewers didn't bring up another outfielder. Having a corner outfield yesterday at the end of the game of Thames/Sogard is absolutely inexcusable if you knew you couldn't play Braun and Yelich.

As someone said before, it is really easy to play the 20/20 game and say you could see things coming... but the combination of not having a bench and having inadequate bullpen options yestesrday was just poor roster management.

With all that said, if Freddy can perform again today we can end up taking 3 of 4 and that is great.

@AdamMcCalvy[/url]"]Lorenzo Cain (groin) thinks there's a "really, really, really good chance" he escapes the DL on Wednesday, first day he's eligible.

Next two days will be big for Christian Yelich (back), who planned to take some swings today. Might have to DL him if he doesn't see improvement.

If we DL Yelich .. what day would that be retroactive to?

If there is any doubt in Yelich's return, DL him for the remainder of his retro time and get another bat up here. When your bench is 3 people and those 3 people are Sogard, Kratz, and Perez ... your options are sinfully limited.

Also, I just looked at the 40 man and Dubon is not listed on the 60 day DL .. is that accurate?

Yes. He would have to be called up to go on the 60 day DL. Doubtful they would pay him MLB salary and burn service time to be on the DL.

If they can avoid then DL with Yelich, they are going to. Why do we continuously go down this road?

If they went that route I believe Yelich would be eligible to return from a DL stint on Monday, July 9th.

Thank you for the info. I never even realized you had to have a guy on the 25 man in order to 60 day and clear a spot for another call up. Strike one on me.

Looking at the 40 man again, what is our deal with Nick Franklin? I feel like the presence of Miller and Saladino make him an obvious casualty as well? Are we not able to transfer him to give us room for someone who can help?

This info should complete my lesson on the 60 day DL and how it is handled..

That's why Nick Franklin made out like a bandit. Sitting in AA collecting a paltry salary, somehow gets added to the 40 and called up out of the blue, takes like 4 innings to get hurt, and has been collecting a full MLB paycheck in the 2 months since then. It's easy to forget he's actually still on the 10 day.

Same thing applies to Franklin. Can just wait until he’s healthy and cut him rather than pay him for 60 days at a mlb salary.

Is Aguilar hurt? Does CC think he is not a full time player?

Looked terrible at the plate yesterday. Made a mental error at first.

Also, Counsell has let everyone know that he’s “big” guy and that those guys need days off.

So should I expect we sit Cain if he has 1 bad game at the plate? Aguilar is looking like the NL MVP right now, he needs to be playing every day

You could jump to that conclusion if you stopped reading my post after the first sentence.
