Say they go 1-3, are we knocked out of the playoffs? Bad stretches occur for every team. Just gotta fight through them if you want to find yourself in the playoffs.

Oh I agree... I just hope we aren't regressing back to where we "should" be. Sucks that when the Cubs slump, so do we. Would love to build a cushion up!!!

I think we've had .500 weeks three weeks in a row now. If they play .500 rest of the year they're still going to win 88 or 89 games. Obviously should strive for better but if your bad weeks are .500 you're doing ok. Just get the first 2/3 and play with house money on Sunday.

Mathematically, no. But who knows. Wasn't it a sweep by the Reds last year that pretty much put this team in the dumps.

I’d go:

Yelich- CF

Braun- RF

Thames- LF

Aguilar- 1B

Miller- SS

Villar- 2B

Perez- 3B

Pina- C

Guerra- P

Not even close. No Cain and maybe no Shaw; that's a pretty big part of this teams offense. Who knows what happens before the trade deadline. Also, the Cubs are a team with their own issues. If this was the end of July, I would be a bit more worried.

I hope Travis is really good to go for the game. I think he is a ballplayer who is tough and wants to play. When he was hit in the head by a ball on second base he was only out a couple of days. I respect his toughness and hope he does well tonight to prove that he is okay because the team needs him.

He's from Ohio too. Hope that has nothing to do with him being in the lineup tonight.

I have it on good authority that Shaw will hit 2 home runs to prove he's really ready to come back today.

Or, isn't it awesome that our slump is not affecting us negatively because of the Cubs' slump?
