2018-06-27: Royals (Duffy) at Brewers (Suter) 1:10 PM CDT [Brewers lose, 5-4]

Eye Black
You just don’t keep the pace the Brewers were on. Some people’s expectations need to get a bit more realistic.

I completely agree with that state of mind. I think with the current talent we'll win about the same as last year, which is why I am advocating for adding a bat. The starting pitching is going to go through a rough patch at some point and we will fall out of contention quickly if we keep the same incredibly inconsistent offense.

The thing is... that bat is currently at Biloxi, IMO.

Hiura's bat looks ready. He fills the hole at second.

Villar moves to short, gives a 150+ point boost to OPS out of that position. Use Miller at third until Shaw is healthy.

When Shaw's OK, he takes third, Miller to short, Sogard cut.

Villar isn’t playing short. They’ve made that clear.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Villar was pretty poor at short when he played there. How much practice has he had there lately. Huira's numbers look fantastic, but he's in AA, and started the year in A+. He also has barely 2 months in the field. He really needs some time in the field to make sure his elbow hold up. A bump to AAA in mid-late July also seems like a reasonable possibility for him.

Are there any other semi-recent examples where a batting prospect started the season in A ball and was advanced to MLB, especially in a pennant race, and continued to hit well?

I bring saladino up Monday and send arcia back to CS to get his stroke back

Maybe some you haven't seen this but brad miller hit 30 homers 2 years ago

I expect him to hit at least 20 homers this year

Miller, saladino, and perez play most of the time, and of course,

sogard gets his few chances

Try this for 30 days and if they don't look good enuff, you trade for something better

Last thing trade for a good catcher and upgrade there

Aguilar is playing like a superstar

I know you guys will say he doesn't have the history to back it and he will regress

I don't care.

All I see is a great hitter.

He has 34 homers and 104 RBIs in 380 ABs as a brewer

and .304 this year

He is either the nl leader is slugging and OPS or he is close

adam, i have read countless posts here that he WASNT ready

to play defense at the major league level..

I am just going by that

IF that is the case, he could just be a pinch hitter

Maybe this isnt the case anymore, but there used to

be a handful of guys who only were pinch hitters or pinch runners in the show

If he CAN play defense here, by all means throw him out there at 2nd base

brewers have inquired about dietrich from the marlins. I doubt Hura will be on our team since it is most likely he gets traded for a ace.

Defrom from the Mets would cost Hura and freddy or our second prospect. That would give us a solid ace over the next several years.

We also can keep everyone and get deitrich. That would send sogard away for good. Although I wouldnt be surprised if Counsel continues to keep Sogard around for his jokes.

It is not the most likely scenario that Hiura gets traded for an ace.
