2018-06-21: Cardinals (Martinez) at Brewers (Suter) 7:10 PM CDT [Brewers win, 11-3; Cardinals defensive woes; Suter - 7 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 5 K]

Is it terrible that I wished Davies and Miley had very, very long rehab stints. The rotation is doing fine with whoever they have been using. I fear Davies and Miley will come up sucking and take awhile to get back to decent.

You're not alone in that. Especially with Davies, and I do like Davies. It might be a bit of a lost year for him, even though he could still have a big 2nd half (again).

As of today, there's no room for them in the rotation. We've been trying to kick Suter out all season, and hes having none of that.

Ain't that a nice problem to have? :)

What? Having Davies, Miley, Woodruff, Burnes, and maybe Nelson available as starters if needed? Yeah, nice problem to have.

Why am I not a Suter believer? Objectively, why are we not? Because he doesn't throw hard? I've been as frustrated as anyone with him so far this season, but I'm not longer at the point that I am worried each time he starts.

When's the last time Santana didn't strike out? I'm being serious.

The last game he had more than 1 PA and 0 K was May 22.

He has 20 AB the entire month. That has to make it pretty hard to stay sharp. Hasn't done anything to earn more though, so catch 22 I guess. A stint in the minors might be needed just to get everyday AB for a couple weeks straight.

Lack of playing time doesn't explain why he strikes out seemingly every time he bats. It's not asking much to at least put the ball in play. If he does that, then we can talk about lack of ABs as a viable reason.
