Dodgers bullpen needs...

With the Dodgers looking to shore up their bullpen, would it make sense for the Brewers to try and see if they can't deal a lower-level bullpen guy to the Dodgers to get a prospect or two?

Dodgers get:

RHP Brandon Woodruff

RHP Jacob Barnes

Brewers get:

SS/2B Drew Jackson

3B/1B Jared Walker

I just cannot wrap my head around this, at all.

Edit: Clancy, could you go further on your evaluations of these players? I’m really interested. Barnes and Woodruff have pretty good value and Barnes especially is helping us this year.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Well, Barnes and Woodruff seem to be lower on our depth chart.

I like Drew Jackson as a solid SS who could put up a .750-.775 OPS at the position. Very good OBP skills and speed, some pop. Arcia's looking more and more like a but of a bust offensively, and maybe it's time to fetch what value the Crew can get for him while he still has control.

Walker is a 3B/1B option who could be ready in a couple of years - his bat strikes me as a good OBP/power combination.

Just to play devil's advocate, even if you did really want those two guys from L.A, you're giving up way, way too much value. Woodruff is a borderline top 100 prospect and Barnes is a very controlled late inning type reliever who strikes out over a batter an inning for his career and is having a career year.

You are getting very bad value for what you're giving up. Barnes alone would have to bring back more than Jackson and Walker.
