Without a doubt the right decision to take out Chacin and put in Hader.

That being said nearly a complete choke job by Hader. Kratz saved two pitches with magical snags and he barely hit the strike zone with a 3-2 pitch.

Agreed, I can assure you hea hader wasn't trying to throw that pitch there. He never throws low fastballs

Fitting that the Brewers took their flight to Pittsburgh in their Bob Uecker/Harry Doyle attire because we're three outs away from saying "That's all we got? One goddam hit?"

It worked! Make another one!! :)

Not just “at Night” anymore.

If you are Ryan Braun you need to do something against this lefty. You are between two lefty hitters.

Good call, and Vazquez has given up a .702 OPS to right handers this year vs. .358 OPS to left handed hitters.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Don’t mean to question Counsell here, but not sure how I feel using Aguilar in the 8th. You know Vasquez is coming in the 9th and you essentially put two lefties to hit in the 9th...one being Thames.

Pretty brutal.

Agreed. I was surprised he used Aguilar.

Even though Santana has struggled he could have been used for Thames
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I don’t want to be a debbie downer just because of a few tough losses, but short of some impactful deadline moves I think this offense is going to be exposed in important games down the stretch for its stars and scrubs makeup.

Plenty of baseball to play and they have managed to make it work to this point, but I think there is reason to be concerned about having seven players in the regular rotation with sub-100 OPS+ marks. At least Braun (97 OPS+), Villar (96 OPS+) and Perez (91 OPS+) are passable, but guys like Piña (65 OPS+), Santana (82 OPS+), Arcia (36 OPS+), and Sogard (13 OPS+) continue to be detrimental to the offensive success of this team. You just can’t have that many nearly automatic outs in your lineups each night and expect continued success over the course of a season.
