2018-06-13: Cubs (Montgomery) at Brewers (Chacín) 1:10 PM CDT [Brewers win, 1-0]

I assume with this pitch count Chacin is probably going six innings and that is about it.

Jeffress, Knebel for sure? Hader, maybe? Is there any reason Williams and Barnes can't go again if needed? I am leery of Jennings and obviously Logan at this point in time.

He's not going to get through the 6th. He won't get through the 5th if his next AB looks anything like the last two.

If it is approaching July and your average is close to the starters average it might be time for a demotion.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

He'll at least come out for the 6th. Nice recovery in the 5th.

Boy, other than Albers's implosion in Game 1, the pitching in this series has been utterly superb.

Edit: Unless they manage to put a couple on here.

I'd think close to the whole pen is available with the off day tomorrow.

I agree. I would think Hader might not be available, and if he is it would likely only be for 1 inning considering his Monday outing. I'm expecting to definitely see Jeffress and Jennings at some point today.

Steady dose of sliders there. Nice job Chacin. You’re becoming a favorite.

Agree, nice job by Chacin. I have to assume that's it for him as he just hit 100 pitches. I would loosely plan on Jeffress in teh 7th, Hader in the 8th, and Knebel in the 9th assuming all are available. If Hader isn't available, then either Jeffress for 2 or try Jennings in the 8th.

Watch them get cute and throw Lopez out there now.

Excuse would be that he's the most well-rested.

So who do you pitch the 7th, arm chair managers? I suppose it's hard to say to not really know Hader's availability.

I think I might start with Williams to face Gimenez and then have Jennings ready for the top with Zobrist & Hayward. If they feel Hader is a full go- maybe JJ 7th, Hader 8th, and Knebel 9th? Either way, let's tack on some runs!

I’m moving away from the bunt but that last AB by Yelich would have been a good time for one. Or hit and run.. something.
