Cubs Series

rickh150

A few observations.....

The Brewers need to win a series versus the Cubs for their own confidence and the fans...

These two easily could be Playing in the Wild Card or Division Series this year. CBS has Odds of the three central teams getting in the playoffs as fairly good. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/standings/

The secondary market has tickets on the cheap(er), compared to other recent Brewers/Cubs series. Weekday nights and end of school year graduation party schedule has something to do with it, possibly...still should be 33,000 plus there each game.

Finally, keep your tickets Brewers fans and Selloouts. Go to these games and root on your team! See you there tonight!

Yes and enjoy Villar playing two bagger.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I know this is what most people are thinking, or some version of it. I'm not buying it. Early June, it's not the hug series people are making it out to be. Would it be good for the fans to win or even sweep the series? Sure, I'll give you that.

But in the great scheme of things, it doesn't mean much of anything compared to any other series. I don't buy the players will lose any confidence if they lose the series, and I don't buy the Cubs would somehow "have their number." Fans and media look at things like that, I get it.

This is gonna be an extremely tough series, the Cubs are playing really well right now...I think they've won 8 of their last 10 and generally seem to have our number.

It's really a shame our lefties not named Hader are struggling so mightily. The Cubs hottest 2 hitters right now are probably Rizzo and Heyward(surprising, i know), it would be nice if we could throw a lefty at those guys whenever possible this series...but I'm not sure I want Logan or Jennings to come within 100 miles of the mound this series unless we are up by double digits.

So, you're hinting at. Why not just come right and out say it? You want to bring Drake back for this series!

I'm glad Hendricks is not pitching this series, the Crew can never hit him. Of course they never hit Quintana either, so I'm predicting something like a 3-1 loss tonight.

I usually don't agree with the confidence thing, but another awful series against the Cubs and the media will never stop bringing it up and it will be hard for the guys not to think about.

We play the Cubs 19 times this year and are currently on pace to beat them twice.

Regardless of the in your head or not, what I do know is that if you go 2-17 against your main rival you have basically no chance to beat them.

A few observations from Mon.:

Great game for 10 innings...

Villar makes the catch at 2B we probably win.

Was calling for Shaw to hit in the 8th for Perez. Perez had some nice plays in the game, however.

Brewers fans showed well...it did my soul well to see and hear Brewers fans giving it back to Cubs fans/cheers throughout the game. 50 to 60 percent Brewers fans although I tend to believe Cubs fans are naturally loud mouths...

I know many say selling first to WI residents was a flop; I liked it and hope that continues. Good to see mostly Brewers fans in the first few rows of the RF bleachers. Can't stop em from coming but can find ways to favor Brewers fans a bit.

Cubs fans, for all their faults, showed up big again on a Mon. Night. Give them some credit. They love baseball and their team. But really and truly, largely just miserable, arrogant, foul mouthed jerks. When their team is on top, they don't just cheer, it is put downs of All things Milwaukee. The 11th inning rants of Cubs fans were brutal... Don't hear that from other fan bases here; Cardinals fans are about opposite...

Hope the die easy sell outs can start saving for their 2019 Brewers/Cubs tickets.... great fans.

The Cubs have the least “been there before” and most “look at me” fans I’ve ever experienced. Brewer fans don’t act like this in Minnesota. Yankee fans don’t act like this at Citi Field. Cardinal fans don’t act like this when they make Wrigley look like Camp Randall Stadium. It humors me how they’re so proud of themselves for being from a population base 6 times larger than Milwaukee’s and so incredibly loyal and wonderful that they’re willing to drive one full hour to support their lovable team.

Yep, there have always been a lot of Cubs fans at these games at Miller Park but now that they are good, I have never seen more arrogant, obnoxious fans. Of course, a lot of these "fans" have just come out of the woodwork the last few years and they're the most obnoxious ones.

Also, a ton of the Cubs fans that go to these games are Wisconsinites. This state is loaded with Cub fans. Just go to a sporting goods store around the state, it's damn near 50-50 Brewers/Cubs gear.

The worst part of the Cubs fans there is they think every fly ball is a HR. It's actually comical at this point to listen to. Ones not even close or clearly without the sounds off the bat. Every fly ball.

Dropped a big one from Cain tonight....

Stuff happens. Also accountable for one of our two runs runs on the board.

At the game yesterday, a camera panned over a fan sign that read "where were all you Cubs fans before 2015". Great stuff.

First Cubs series I've been to in years and it was disgusting. The amount of Cubs fans in the stands was overwhelming. The number of Cubs fans in the stands makes them far too comfortable, and they can act like they want because they have strength in numbers.

When they would BOO Braun in our stadium, and it sounded like the entire stadium was doing it, I have to admit, it ticked me off. Do the current fans know a guy named Sammy Sosa? Hypocrites.

I'm a gluten for punishment, as I'll be at the next 2 games as well.

Thank god this series over. Cubs series bring out the worst in our fans. First game finishes and people act like the world is falling and Cain/Yelich ran into each other tearing their ACLs.

All that and we win the series allowing not a single run the next two games.

And now we all can breath.

Man it really is annoying listening to Uecker and hearing the Cubs fans cheering for line drives into the stands or 250 foot fly balls. What is that?

Given the Cubs struct out 13 times today and didn't score a run, that's all their fans had to cheer about.
