I completely assumed they were sticking with JJ another inning. He had a reasonably light 10th and his spot didn't come up.

 

Probably thinking about saving Jeffress for any type of close game tomorrow. Not sure if Hader would be available. Knebel probably is.

Yep. This offense has been pathetic ALL year against the Cubs. Friggin impossible asking your pitchers to only give up 1 run a game to have a chance to win... My comment from earlier in the game holds - Kratz should lead a post-game discussion of why he doesn't crap his pants when he plays the Cubs...

Every time we get close to beating the Cubs this happens ... and had for the last few years it seems ... actually .. seems like forever .. games we had big leads vs the Cubs at Wrigley back in the day even where we end up losing ... the Cubs are that pesky itch you can’t scratch and when you do, you accidentally open a scab ... always have been and always will be...
