Final: DSL Brewers 6, DSL Phillies White 1

DSL Brewers Box Score

For the 4th time in 5 career games, Carlos Rodriguez notched 2 hits and the DSL Crew wins a pretty crisply played game on their end.

With 9 OFs on the roster, it is interesting to me to see who plays where with who else. Today. Rodriguez made his 3rd start in LF, with the other 2 coming in CF. Today's CF was Larry Ernesto, who for the 4th time in 5 games went hitless and is 1-22 w/10 Ks. to begin his pro career. This is his 3rd time playing CF - he's played LF once and DH'd once. The RF was Oswel Leones, who had two hits and a walk. That's 3 times on base after being on base 4 times yesterday. Leones has played RF twice, LF once, and DH'd once. The 17-year-old Venezuelan has a 855 OPS through 17 pro PAs.

2B Luis Silva (who has also played 1B and 3B) and debutante DH Francis Gonzalez each had 2 singles, while 1B Jean Cruz (who has also played 2B, 3B and has pitched as well) smacked the lone extra base hit, a double.

RHP Wilber Perez, the club's opening day pitcher, made career start #2 and was great. He scattered 3 singles, a HBP, and walked a batter against 7 Ks and no runs allowed. RHP Santiago Elizondo closed the game out, throwing 4 innings of 1-run ball that earned him his first career save.

Final: DSL Dodgers Guerrero 7, DSL Brewers/Indians 2

DSL Brewers/Indians Box Score

Los Guerreros bested the co-op team for the second day in a row. The only Brewer farmhand with a hit was SS Elian Gonzalez, who went 2-3 with a walk.

RHP Alexis Ramirez was the SP and was making his pro debut, and it didn't go so hot. He allowed 5 runs on 6 hits, 3 BBs and a HBP plus 3 WPs for good measure, over 3.1 innings. Joel Munoz was a catcher last year, but has now apparently transitioned to become a RHP. He pitched a scoreless 9th. Daniel Acosta pitched; Daniel Acosta walked a batter.

DSL Brewers/Indians Game Log

Elian Gonzalez scores the first run:

DSL Indians/Brewers Bottom of the 1st

Marlin Made singles on a ground ball to right fielder Andy Pages. Elian Gonzalez to 3rd.

Not a good outing from Braden Webb. He issued four of the eight walks given up by Mudcat pitchers in this game. Weston Wilson and Max McDowell each had two hits. Greg Young mentioned that Devin Williams reached 95 yesterday on a more accurate radar gun.

Final: Sacramento 4, Colorado Springs 1

SKY SOX FALL TO RIVER CATS FRIDAY IN SERIES OPENER

Includes these notes:

Road Woes: Colorado Springs road trips struggles continue, as they are now 3-10 over their last 13 road games. Over nine games in Tennessee, the Sky Sox only nabbed a single win in each of the series. So far on their California road trip, the Sky Sox are 1-3.

Closing In: The Sky Sox find themselves the closest to a .500 winning percentage since they held a 4-1 record on April 10 after five games played. They currently hold a 31-28 record and have not won more than two games in a row since taking four straight from May 12 to May 17.

Box Score / Game Log

Another tough aspect of the Sky Sox affiliation are the position players' need to adjust from home and road, not just the pitchers, as noted above.

Anybody else see "Bandy Moore" in the box and think this?
