I'm not sure if any of you followed the whole Luke Heimlich story this week, but he's statistically speaking a first-round talent that went undrafted out of Oregon State today for the second straight year. He has one more year remaining at OSU and it looks like that'll be his only option for now. My question, do you think somebody is going to sign him at some point, or is he effectively barred from ever playing professional baseball (at least in the United States).

 

This is a unique case. A lot of NFL players will go undrafted for things they did off the field, only to sign later as an undrafted free agent. I don't remember anyone ever having something like this on their record and his caliber going into the draft, so it seems like uncharted territory.
