Draft begins at noon CT for those like me who didn't know what time it started.

In 2010 24 of the top 50 picks were pitchers. 6 of those 24 became effective major league starters.

In 2011 26 of the top 50 picks were pitchers. 6 of those 26 became effective major league starters.

In 2012 22 of the top 50 picks were pitchers. 5 of those 22 became effective major league starters.

I am being generous calling some guys like Gausman effective here too. Drafting pitching early is insanely risky, I don't blame them at all for going with safer bets and getting pitching later. Pitching develops as much as it is raw talent. I'd rather they draft a guy round 3 or 4 and develop them than chase arm talent earlier in the draft.

As we start to inch closer to our 4th round pick, are there a handful of names that we should be hoping for here? Any under-the-radar type guys that we might target with this pick? Or, are they any big college arms still available that have slid for some reason? I see Beck just went to the Braves.

Works for me. Instant analysis from Draft twitter follows below.

Brewers going the #JuCoRoute with Crowder's Aaron Ashby. Absolutely ridiculous strikeout numbers this year, some funk in delivery, hammer breaking ball, some projection there

Stephen Cohn

@stephen__cohn

Ashby is "on a good path" they say on the broadcast. 156 Ks (led nation in JUCO) and 18.8 (!!) Ks per nine innings. Plus curve, hard slider, 91-94 fastball. #Brewers

Eric Longenhagen

@longenhagen

I think Aaron Ashby is a great pick. One of better curveballs in the draft, fastball comes in at tough angle. Threw three non-nos this spring.

Carlos Collazo

Another @jjcoop36 guy goes off the board in Aaron Ashby. Crazy numbers with an above-average fastball in the 90-94 range with a true plus curveball. He's gotten stronger and could add even more weight.

Aaron Ashby is another player from my big board, he was untouchable this year. He had some of the craziest stats in the country

Interesting pick. I like his upside and it looks like there's room for growth.

Ashby is an athletic lefty that just turned 20 years old. Throws a low-to-mid 90's fastball with a plus curveball in the 80's. Has a change as well. Potential control issues due to funky delivery. #Brewers
