The daily organizational scoreboard link does not include the box for the shared DSL team of the Brewers and Indians.

So we will be including this additional link within the initial post when the DSL picks up again on Monday after their customary Sunday off.

If any of you are in the Chicago to see the Brewers series and can get NBCSports Chicago at your hotel, they are currently showing the remainder of yesterday's suspended game and will also be showing the regularly scheduled match up between Carolina and Winston-Salem, a White Sox affiliate.

Trey Supak's second AA game was not a pretty one. The big right-hander surrendered six runs on seven hits and four walks in just four innings. Shucker relievers would hold the Mississippi Braves scoreless for the rest of the game, but Biloxi only managed a single run, going 1-9 with runners in scoring position - and leaving eight batters stranded. Keston Hiura and Jake Hager each had a pair of hits to lead the Shuckers.

Batting

Keston Hiura: 2-4, 2B

Jake Hager: 2-4, 2B

Tyler Heidemann: 1-3, BB

Two more professional debuts!

RHP Moises Ruiz - Signed 10/15/17, 6'2', 170, 3/10/98 (20 as of the start of the DSL season)

Originally thought to be from Venezuela, Ruiz is a Panamanian native.

The Indians / Brewers bats combined to strike out 15 times without drawing a walk.

Second-year CF Bryan Dimas, a switch-hitting 18-year-old out of Panama, was 0-for-3 with three K's. Last year Dimas struck out 95 times in 169 at-bats (not a misprint). So amazingly, Dimas is off to even a rougher start in 2018.

Final: Colorado Springs 14, Iowa 11

Guess where this one was played?!

Wren's Grand Slam Lifts Sky Sox Over Cubs

cut.jpg

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Sky Sox came away on Saturday's "Avengers Night" with a late 14-11 win over the Iowa Cubs thanks to the heroics of outfielder Kyle Wren and his two-out, eighth-inning grand slam at Security Service Field. The home run was Wren's first of the season and marked his first professional career grand slam. With the victory, the Sky Sox mark their 30th overall win in 2018.

The rest of the summary and detailed notes at the link above...info like this and much "Moore"

Swiping Bags: The seven stolen bases Saturday night by the Sky Sox ties the team record for stolen bases in a game.

We Want Moore: Infielder Dylan Moore has been a hot bat with the Sky Sox since joining the squad on May 10. In 19 games, the Southern California native is batting .348 (23-for-66) over 19 games with seven doubles, a triple, three home runs and 13 RBI with a .403 on-base percentage. Again Iowa in this series, he has gone 8-for-13 (.615) with four doubles, a home run, and six RBI.

Box Score / Game Log

Christian Bethancourt isn't moping about Erik Kratz' big league arrival, 4-for-5 including his 6th home run.

As for the pitching, RHP Brandon Woodruff walked five in six innings, but only allowed three runs (two earned), striking out six. A rougher go for the three relievers on this night.

Thanks for the find! This was also posted in our season-long Mudcats feature article archive thread (for those that may come to the Link Report directly via Twitter only).

Here is an interesting article on Alec Crawford

Back in the game, Crawford makes every pitch count

In the interest of full disclosure, I work at the paper that published it.
