I love how we use Hader, but it feels like a waste when he sits for 4 days in a row.

 

As a starter he would be doing this all the time, no matter what

 

I get it, but I wouldn't have wanted him in there yesterday, and extra rest is a good thing. Maybe he goes 2-plus, even 3 tomorrow. Maybe he goes Rays style and gets the first nine outs. I would absolutely consider it, though I know it won't happen. He is going to pitch anyway, might as well hope he throws up zeroes early...

and have him go 3 innings at most or on a tight pinch count

I'm guessing Arcia comes back up. I don't like it, it defeats the purpose of sending him down, but what choice do we have? The alternative is a pretty bad one -- Sogard playing every day.

 

There are two other possibilities: 1) An outside acquisition (somewhat more likely), or 2) Moore or Orf being promoted. Either one would require a 40 man spot to be cleared, which could be accomplished by transferring Franklin to the 60 day DL.

 

Dubon couldn't have picked a worse time to blow out a knee. He'd be playing everyday in Milwaukee by now.
