I am hoping today looks like this vs. a lefty:

Cain CF

Yelich RF

Aguilar 1B

Shaw 3B

Braun LF

Perez 2B

Pina C

Saladino SS

Anderson P

Replace Braun with Santana and that is not a bad lineup. Braun should be a start every once in awhile player right now in his career.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Braun is going to get every start against lefties. Guaranteed.

I can't argue with Braun against lefties. I'd like to argue against him batting 3rd but Shaw wouldn't be a better option against a lefty, he doesn't hit lefties well.

I actually kind of thought we might see Shaw off and Aguilar at 3rd and Santana in but I understand not wanting to sit Shaw.

Villar back in the dog house.

I’ll hold off on judgement of that until he starts sitting against RHP’s. If that starts happening again, Counsell is a moron.

Wouldn't say that yet. He started yesterday. He almost never starts against lefties. Which is kind of weird because if you look at his career numbers he is better as a righty but more recently he's far better as a lefty.

For all that is made of the importance of pitchers and catchers spending time working together in the spring in order to attain a high level of comfort with each other, it seems strange you could pluck a guy from the another organizations minor league system and have him catch one of your top starters the next day.
